Our Workplace Law Practice
McKöena Law Office specializes in assisting Canadian Forces members addressing section 29 of the National Defence Act grievances & workplace harassment. In accordance with section 29 of the National Defence Act, Canadian Forces members are required to process all workplace grievances through their military chain of command as prescribed in the Act. Alternatively, a complainant may, within one year of the behavior complained of, file a complaint with the Canadian Human Rights Commission if the harassment involved race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, pardoned conviction, or sexual orientation. Often, it is wise for a party to seek legal advice before submitting a grievance or filing a complaint with the Human Rights Commission.
